Office Positions

    Part-time, exempt                                                                      $32,500 annually

    The purpose of this position is to act as servant leader to the Richmond Volleyball Club’s program managers and coordinators with the goal of ensuring they achieve their individual strategic and budget goals.  The Director will hold direct reports accountable while ensuring their growth and development as future leaders. 


    • Develops skills and capabilities of direct reports while ensuring stated program and budget goals are achieved if not exceeded.
    • In conjunction with program staff, explores potential changes in programs – either addition of new programs, modification/improvement of existing programs, or deletion of ineffective programs – in order to drive growth and revenue for the organization.
    • Along with Outreach Coordinator, researches and applies for grants and other funding opportunities.
    • Oversees Robison Fund and financial assistance application and award process.
    • Builds relationships with complimentary external youth serving organizations.


    The individual in this position must excel at engaging staff with goal of providing excellent programs and service. Also important – ability to delegate and provide ongoing evaluation; attention to detail; and exceptional communication skills. Applicant must be proficient with MS Office products, exceptionally organized, have a strong ability to multi-task and manage time well.  One year grant writing experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Non Profit  Management, Marketing, Business Administration or other related field preferred. Three to five years program management and supervisory experience required.

Coaching & Referee Postions

  • Itsy Bitsy Spikers (year round) RVC is looking for positive, energetic individuals who love working with young kids (ages 3-7) for our Satellite Itsy Bitsy Spikers program. Flexible daytime hours. 

    Middle School League (fall) Our Middle School League (grades 7th-9th) practices one night a week and will compete at RVC on Saturdays. Season runs September – November.

    City League (winter/spring) Our City League (ages 10-18) practice one night a week and will compete at RVC on Saturdays. Season runs mid-December – April.

  • This is a great way to get more experience with volleyball, work with and teach a group of eager young players, and earn some money for your time and effort. Development opportunities provided. There are different level of teams. “Regional” and “Metro” teams play 6-8 tournaments within the state and girls teams will play in multi-day events; “Zonal” teams play 10-12 tournaments and travel more with 2-3 overnight stays, and “National” teams play 12-15 tournaments with 3-5 out-of-state tournaments or multi-day events including at least one national championship. Coaching assignments are based on coaching experience, available time, and seniority.RVC is supportive of coaches’ efforts to improve their skills and finances many opportunities for training/education.Coaches do get paid!   • Flexible schedule Sunday thru Friday, 6pm to 10pm or 11pm each night. Pay is between $12/hr to $14/hr.  Must attend a referee clinic. Clinics are held according to interest/need and dates are posted on this website. Please register online  as space is limited.  The cost is $25 and includes referee packet (i.e. study materials). We teach you what you need to know. Candidates must successfully complete the clinic, observations and evaluation process.

  • Starter League is a program at Richmond Volleyball Club that welcomes potential adults new to the sport or new to RVC and looking for teammates. Each season the program averages about 30-40 participants in a 6-week program that introduces participants to the club, reviews basic skills, and helps create teams for the adult league. The program is held on Friday nights at RVC Byrdhill and Thursday nights at RVC Stonebridge. We are seeking coaches for the program — one head coach to coordinate the program and 3-4 assistant coaches. These are paid positions. Candidates with volleyball and/or coaching experience is required and enthusiasm is a must. Experience with customer relations is also a plus but not a requirement.

  • The Lead Referee is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and evaluating referees’ performances for adult league programs at RVC. By doing so, this role plays an integral part in ensuring consistency amongst the referees and compliance with RVC’s policy and procedure for adult leagues.

    Job Description

    • Lead Referee will report to the Adult Program Manager at RVC.
    • Purpose of this position is to coach, mentor, and evaluate referees’ performance for the adult program at RVC
    • Ensures consistency amongst referees in each league in enforcing rules and policies, including but not limited to starting matches on time, consistency of double calls, proper use of yellow and red cards, safe play, courteous conduct, and all other rules and policies of Richmond Volleyball Club.
    • Applicant must have strong knowledge of the rules of volleyball, be a good observer, be detail oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact well with the general public and staff are required.
    • This is a part- time position. Work hours begin at 5:30pm with approximately 4-5 hours/night, 2 nights per week.  Salary is $16-$18/hr.
