Non-Coaching Positions

  • Cafe Associate – part-time (evening)

    Description: RVC is hiring energetic, personable individuals to work in a customer focused food service environment. Duties include light food prep, operating POS system, pouring beer, stocking, inventory control and light cleaning. Must be able to work independently, show initiative, be aware of and maintain food safety and sanitation standards. This is a part time position. We are looking for someone who can work between 6 and 24 hours/week (1-3 evenings) Hours vary but are approximately from 5 PM to Midnight. Must have availability on Sundays. 

    Required Qualifications: Above all, must have a positive and professional demeanor as well as

    • Able to lift 20 lbs. 
    • Stand for long periods of time. 
    • Be 21 years old or older. 
    • Be able to handle cash and credit card transactions. 
    • Accurately count night deposit. 
    • Pass a background check. 

    Salary: $10-$12/hour (depending on night) plus tips.

  • League Assistant – ( Former known as: Member Services Associate) – Part Time evenings

    Description: Are you outgoing, organized and detail oriented?  If so, the Richmond Volleyball Club (RVC) may have a position for you.  RVC is a large adult and youth sports organization with approximately 2,500 members. We offer a professional but relaxed atmosphere with opportunities to learn and grow. Major responsibilities for this position include monitoring the facility and activities during open gym and evening league play; providing assistance to current and potential members and guests by answering their questions; data entry; and assisting the program manager as requested.   

     

    Required Qualifications: Must have friendly, professional attitude and enjoy interacting with the public. Hours are generally 2-3 nights/week from 4:30 pm until 11:30 pm (times are approximate).  Must have some availability on Friday and/or Sunday evenings. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma with some office experience * Previous customer service experience * Familiarity with and ability to use Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Ability to promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to RVC members * Strong communication skills * Possess organizational skills with a high level of detail, accuracy and follow-up * Self-starter who works well in a small team environment.  

     

    Must be able to navigate volleyball courts; climb ladder to replace lights or scoreboards; speak on phone; enter data on computer. 

     

    Salary: $15.00 – 20.00 per hour to start

  • Facility Monitor – Part Time evenings

    Description: Generally, the position is responsible for the opening, closing, and general use and supervision of the building. Responsibility also includes customer service and answering questions as needed.

Coaching & Referee Postions

    Itsy Bitsy Spikers (year round) RVC is looking for positive, energetic individuals who love working with young kids (ages 3-7) for our  Itsy Bitsy Spikers program. Flexible daytime hours. THIS POSITION CURRENTLY CLOSED

    Jumpin’ Juniors (fall-spring) No volleyball experience needed! Positive, energetic individuals needed for short term (8 week) sessions, approx. 1.5 hours per session to work under direction of a Master Coach. COACHES CURRENTLY NEEDED FOR SPRING SESSION – MARCH 19 – MAY 14 (no session on 4/9), 5:30-7:00 PM. Location: 200 Karl Linn Drive, N. Chesterfield

    Middle School League (fall) Our Middle School League (grades 7th-9th) practices one night a week and will compete at RVC on Saturdays. Season runs September – November.

    Virginia Youth Volleyball League (VYVL) (winter/spring) Our City League (ages 10-18) practice one night a week and will compete at RVC on Saturdays. Season runs mid-December – April.

    This is a great way to get more experience with volleyball, work with and teach a group of eager young players, and earn some money for your time and effort. Development opportunities provided. There are different level of teams. “Regional” and “Metro” teams play 6-8 tournaments within the state and girls teams will play in multi-day events; “Zonal” teams play 10-12 tournaments and travel more with 2-3 overnight stays, and “National” teams play 12-15 tournaments with 3-5 out-of-state tournaments or multi-day events including at least one national championship. Coaching assignments are based on coaching experience, available time, and seniority.RVC is supportive of coaches’ efforts to improve their skills and finances many opportunities for training/education.Coaches do get paid! Pay is determined by the amount of time required to work with each level of team.

    Flexible schedule Sunday thru Friday, 6pm to 10pm or 11pm each night. Pay is between $16/hr to $20/hr.  Must attend a referee clinic. Clinics are held according to interest/need and dates are posted on the Club Calendar  and various social media outlets. The cost is $35 and includes referee packet (i.e. study materials). We teach you what you need to know. Candidates must successfully complete the clinic, observations and evaluation process.

    Starter League is a program at Richmond Volleyball Club that welcomes potential adults new to the sport or new to RVC and looking for teammates. Each season the program averages about 30-40 participants in a 6-week program that introduces participants to the club, reviews basic skills, and helps create teams for the adult league. The program is held on Monday nights at RVC Stonebridge and Friday’s at RVC-Byrdhill. We are seeking coaches for the program — one head coach to coordinate the program and 1-2 assistant coaches. These are paid positions. Candidates with volleyball and/or coaching experience is required and enthusiasm is a must. Experience with customer relations is also a plus but not a requirement.

  • Our Outreach program works to provide opportunities to schools, organizations and groups who wish to introduce volleyball to their youth. We are seeking coaches to assist with the program. You do not need to be proficient in coaching but should have a firm understanding of the fundamentals of the sport. This is a part time position. Check payscale in the saession options below. Must have reliable transportation. Programs are offered at a variety of locations in Henrico and Richmond.

    Summer Session: (CLOSED)We’ve partnered with Henrico Education Foundation and Richmond Parks & Rec to bring Volleyball to elementary & middle school age kids! It’s never too early to start! Seeking enthusiastic individuals who can travel to loactions for volleyball clinics. 2-3 days per week (15-20 hours per week). Starts at $20/hour.

    Fall/Winter/Spring: Looking for coaches who are available to travel to Henrico county schools to help teach volleyball to Middle and Elementary aged kids. This is a 1-day a week committment at each school so there is opportunity to do multiple schools during the week. Must be available as early as 2:45 to start but most sessions end by 5pm. Starts at $25-30/hour.
