The purpose of this full time position is to ensure that café and retail staff serves high quality food and products to members and guests of RVC while providing superior customer service consistently and within RVC policies and guidelines.
Some general responsibilities include: food preparation, supervises evening staff, providing training and corrective feedback as needed, uses Point of Sale system reporting inaccuracies as soon as possible to the General Manager, ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations – OSHA, Department of Labor, Health Department, Alcoholic Beverage and Control, etc., follow daily prep list at the start of each shift, closes the café properly and follows the closing checklist, as requested, assist with operational tasks such as inventory management, product preparation, etc., controls cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with café policies and procedures.
Applicant must be familiar with MS Office products, detail oriented, exceptionally organized, able to communicate effectively, multi-task and manage time well. One to three years food service leadership experience required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact well with the general public and staff.
- Must be a minimum 21 years old or older.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours), be able to lift up to 30 lbs., use a hand truck to move 50+ lbs., perform repetitive lifting and moving of up to 20 lbs., and have sufficient manual dexterity for food preparation tasks.
- Be able to communicate and understand in English.
- Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
- Available to work 5 evenings weekly.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to interact with all levels of staff and clients.
Base salary + tips approximately $23,000.

Itsy Bitsy Spikers (year round) RVC is looking for positive, energetic individuals who love working with young kids (ages 3-7) for our Satellite Itsy Bitsy Spikers program. Flexible daytime hours.
Middle School League (fall) Our Middle School League (grades 7th-9th) practices one night a week and will compete at RVC on Saturdays. Season runs September – November.
City League (winter/spring) Our City League (ages 10-18) practice one night a week and will compete at RVC on Saturdays. Season runs mid-December – April.

This is a great way to get more experience with volleyball, work with and teach a group of eager young players, and earn some money for your time and effort. Development opportunities provided. There are different level of teams. “Regional” and “Metro” teams play 6-8 tournaments within the state and girls teams will play in multi-day events; “Zonal” teams play 10-12 tournaments and travel more with 2-3 overnight stays, and “National” teams play 12-15 tournaments with 3-5 out-of-state tournaments or multi-day events including at least one national championship. Coaching assignments are based on coaching experience, available time, and seniority.RVC is supportive of coaches’ efforts to improve their skills and finances many opportunities for training/education.Coaches do get paid! Pay is determined by the amount of time required to work with each level of team. Are you looking for a way to expand your knowledge and gain experience with a large, non-profit, youth-sports organization? If so, Richmond Volleyball Club is looking for a hard-working individual to join us for our internship program.
This internship involves exposure to all aspects of youth instruction and program development including, but not limited to: assisting with RVC’s Developmental, Travel and Outreach program administration; participant coordination and communication; onsite coordinator for outreach programs and tournaments; and volunteer administration. Special projects may be available to interns with appropriate skills on a time applicable basis. This internship is for an unpaid position.
- An individual that is self-motivated, personable, and has an interest in athletic administration/instruction.
- An individual with the ability to handle themselves in various situations with large groups of juniors and adults, as well as in the enforcement of policies and procedures.
- Computer literate using MS Office.
- Excellent written, verbal and public relations skills.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
- A desire to work with athletes ages 3-18 of all backgrounds and abilities.
- A background in the game of volleyball is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends.
We will be offering this internship in the summer, fall, and spring with 1 position available per term (we are flexible with the following dates based on the individual’s academic calendar):
Summer: May 2016-August 2016 Deadline: March 15, 2016

Spring: January 2017- April 2017 Deadline: November 15, 2016

Flexible schedule Sunday thru Friday, 6pm to 10pm or 11pm each night. Pay is between $12/hr to $14/hr. Must attend a referee clinic. Clinics are held according to interest/need and dates are posted on this website. Please register online as space is limited. The cost is $25 and includes referee packet (i.e. study materials). We teach you what you need to know. Candidates must successfully complete the clinic, observations and evaluation process.
