19th Annual Boy's East Coast Championships

Welcome and thank you for taking part in the 18th Annual Boy's East Coast Championships. This year's tournament will be held May 26 - 28, 2012 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

The Boys' East Coast Championships is using the "Stay and Play Policy"

The Boys' East Coast Championship (BECC) is an annual event played over Memorial Day weekend. This tournament is part of the USA Volleyball (USAV) qualification process used to determine the "Open Division" teams at the Boys' Junior Olympic Championships (JOVC). The BECC awards up to three bids in each age group, provided there are a minimum of fifteen entries in the age group.   In the event of previously qualified teams the bids will trickle down according to the USA Volleyball Boy's Bid Manual. 

The format will be determined by the USAV Competition Committee and will follow all policies set forth in the USAV Boys' Bid Tournament Manual. Play will begin promptly at 8:00am on Saturday and Sunday for the 12's, 13's, 15's and 16's, and 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday for the 14's, 17's and 18's. The 14's, 15's, 16's , 17's and 18's will play one wave on Saturday and one wave on Sunday. Playoffs will begin at 8:00am on Monday and scheduled to conclude by 4pm.

We will utilize Advanced Event Systems for our online registration process, scheduling, and results. We will require teams living outside a 50 mile radious of Richmond to stay in our selected hotels with reservations made through our selected housing bureau. This is the same system used by USA Volleyball and the Boy's Junior National Championships. The tournament will take place May 26 - 28, 2012 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

The entry fee for the 2012 Boys' East Coast Championships in the 14 through 18 divisions will be $595. We will continue to accept entries after the May 6, 2012 deadline, but there is no guaranty teams will be accepted. There are no refunds after the entry deadline. We will require teams living outside a 50 mile radius of Richmond to stay in our selected hotels with reservations made through PSA.

2. A signed tournament entry form
3. Confirmation from PSA that hotel reservations have been made

The Old Dominion Region will tentatively offer an IMPACT Clinic 6:00pm Friday night ,May 26 at a site to be determined. IMPACT is the minimum coaching requirement for any team interested in participating in the Junior National Championships or its qualifying events and this will be your last chance for a face to face clinic. The cost is $100 and the checks need to be made payable to "USAV Old Dominion Region."

Check - In will begin at 5pm on Friday, May 26 and will continue until 10pm. Please enter the convention center through the doors at the corner of 3rd and Marshall Streets.

Paying by credit card and faxing the tournament entry form to (804) 358-1018 is the fastest way to start the entry process. Hotel Booking Instructions

Please note that the Boys' East Coast Championships is a "Stay and Play" event.  This requires all participants (teams and guests) located outside of a 50 mile radius of the Greater Richmond Convention Center to patronize selected hotel sponsors.  This program helps keep team costs down with substantial savings on room rates, hotel amenities and discounts on dining while still providing unique experiences throughout the tournament.

Room reservations will be handled through PSA Sports.  Team and individual reservations can be made online at http://www.team-psa.com/sports/tournament.asp?fmeetingseq=CORH.124 or you can contact a Personal Housing Coordinator by email at PSASportsHousing@team-psa.com or by phone at 888-390-5003.

Teams already registered will be contacted by a Personal Housing Coordinator to assist with hotel reservations.  Calls will be made in the order of registration date.

We ask that parents and guests book a maximum of 2 rooms per reservation.  If you are making room reservations for a team please contact a PSA Housing Coordinator by phone or email.  All reservations must be associated with an attending club and team.
